Employee Volunteerism is an important component of our fundraising strategy to supplement our income whilst we provide appropriate and safe opportunities for company employees to make a time-based contribution.
Nelson Mandela International Day is an annual international day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on 18 July, Mandela’s birthday.
In view of Covid-19 restrictions, we are planning our Mandela Day activities well in advance, and spreading these over a period of 05 days between Monday 12 July through to Friday 16 July.
Participation will be limited so pre-booking is essential to ensure that we can offer activities safely.
All volunteerism activities will be outdoors, all COVID-19 regulations will be observed – the number of people will be strictly controlled, sanitation stations provided, attendance registers must be completed on entry, and facemasks throughout the visit are essential.
Volunteer tasks could include:
- Cleaning kennels, bowls, blankets, offices, cars, windows, etc
- Gardening e.g. collecting litter, weeding, raking, etc
- Spending time with the animals
- Washing blankets
- Cleaning storerooms
We have 2 (two) branches – Waltloo, Silverton, and Centurion. Each of the branches has a unique list of needs that Corporates can pre-book for their staff on a pre-selected date.
Please make contact with our respective General Manager at the branch of your choice for more information on how you can get involved:
